Wildcats

I am not usually very interested in basketball, but my Kentucky heritage compels me to support the Wildcats this year in the college basketball finals. Note how strong is my zeal for king and country: I am rooting for a team with a feline mascot!
In other news, I have been employing a little subterfuge to ensure my rightful spot on the bed. Last week, father was on a work trip--and mother banished me to my nest at night and closed the bedroom door during the day, presumably hoping to assert her parental authority. HA. So on Wednesday, I waited until she was in the bathroom getting ready for work. Then I hopped up on the bed and gave her a most baleful look when she came in and saw me there. Who could go against such a sad face as mine? Not mother.
This worked just as well on Thursday and Friday. In fact, I am sitting on the bed this very minute, even though father is just in the other room. He didn't notice me sneaking in here after my walk and certainly can't evict me now that I am comfortably curled up on his pillow.
Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time for a nap.
