Resolutions

Some people say they don't like resolutions because they have a hard time keeping them. Not me. I like to keep my resolutions within the realm of the possible. I enjoy the robust feeling of accomplishment!

Having accomplished a good nap.

Without further ado [sigh. As my mother was typing this for me, she snorted at the word "ado," presumably because of its phonetic similarity to a synonym for excrement. I probably don't have to tell you that my humans are slightly sophomoric], here are my New Year's resolutions:

  1. To continue my quest for squirrel domination. The 2011 crop has more or less gone into hibernation, but I have kept my vigilance. This morning I was able to do the rounds at the Lee Highway Squirrel Tree AND the Western Squirrel Field; one must never rest when it comes to squirrels. They are quick and devious.
  2. To acquire a permanent spot on the bed. The other day I was alarmed to hear my humans discussing the fact that I would be banished to my inferior floor bed once the heat in our home is fixed. Fortunately, however, I have a few arrows in my quiver. A cute head tilt; a soft whine; a longing gaze. It's easier than you think.
  3. To learn German. My mother has said she will aid me in this effort. She also has been attempting to learn German for nearly 5 years now. I hope that I am a quicker study than she.

I do believe that when you make resolutions that are enjoyable, they are much easier to keep. I had a refreshing nap on the bed this very day--2012 is looking promising.
