Caribbean

Hello humans. Here is a post from mother--she would like to share her photos from her and father's trip to St. Lucia. I don't know much about the place, since as you know I was not invited (humph), but I admit the photos are quite lovely. Observe:

The cottage was called "Hilltop Guava."

This is because it was on a hilltop! Here is the balcony view.

Chairs from which to admire the view.

This is the town square in Soufriere, on the southwest coast of St. Lucia. Can you spot the chickens?
One of the best things about St. Lucia is the fact that so much is made locally. Like this beer, named after the spiky Piton mountains near Soufriere.

Soufriere beach. The white vans are ubiquitous. Trucks, too.

Back to Fond Doux. There was a beautiful three-basin pool among the treetops.

Pool views. The plantation uses coconuts from its trees in its cooking and drinks.

Harvey here. I would love to catch this creature! Looks tasty.

The Caribbean's only drive-in volcano. You can drive into the crater, and there are mud baths and a hot sulfury stream.
Diamond Falls. "Romancing the Stone," with Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas,
was filmed here, according to Simon Say's Tours.
Simon Say's himself!

Snorkeling at Anse Chastanet. You don't have to go far out to find a whole bunch of fish. Including barracudas.

Anse Mamin beach is perfectly secluded.

The Diamond Botanical Gardens:

Crab Claws
Bread and Butter Flower

Leafy Greens

This is a flower that is so delicate it cannot survive a human touching its petals.
It must always be handled by the stem.

In a tropical paradise.
